Firepit Art Gallery and Studios CIC

Marcus Jake here, founder of Firepit, trying to keep you up to date with all that is happening, not an easy task as there is so much! - Firepit is on FIRE! 🔥🔥
We have some fantastic events in store for you this November. As the nights draw in, come and relax around the firepit, which will burning at many of our evening events. Or take off your shoes and feel the underfloor heating that has just been repaired (thank you Ollie / Edin). If you want cosy, we’ve got ya. Alfie’s bar is up and running as an event bar, so certain events only. It’s taken a long time to sort, so we are very happy and as we are non-profit, when it is open the prices are really competitive!
In case you missed the opening, we have our brand new exhibition, ‘Whispers of the Infinite’. Over 30 Artists taking part, it really is an absolutely stunning exhibition, with wonderful artworks from incredible artists. There is artwork everywhere in the building, already we have had amazing feedback about how it is looking, please come in and tell us what you think. Full Details Here

Our website has gone live. It is a really big deal. We have minimal things up at the moment, but the framework is in place, ready to build on, things should now move and grow quickly. firepit.art
Firepit has always been organic, we grow because of the people we meet. We become better, because of the people we meet. We basically are the people we meet. We are in a position to make a real difference here, in fact I know we already are. There are a lot of ideas about what we can do to help support and help build our community, I personally will always find time if you want to go through any ideas you have. Firepit is first and foremost and inclusive space, a place where we all support each other. The world outside us can often seem messed up. We, as in all reading and all we touch, make the difference by being kind and not judging, being welcoming and supporting, I have personally met so many people recently that make me realise the world is full of amazing individuals that want to make it a much better place. Firepit will always be your space to do this.

Hi, we are Bakhtawer (Baki) and Betty.
We are Plan B, yours and truly. A possible plan, the B side of the disc, another option, another choice to make, one amongst many, or is it? We are a creative direction and graphic design studio based in London. What we do is first and foremost collaborate with people and then design. Our aim is to challenge aesthetical norms and push the boundaries of the design canons by adapting our design solutions to our clients needs and visual personality. Each person is different and each project, brand, book, website is too, so we design accordingly.
We also run an independent pushing house called Sold Out Publishing. We publish creative, interactive, ugly, designy, artsy publications that take on multiple shapes and forms. Sold Out is looking at what is (weirdly) missing or under-represented in the graphic design and visual culture references and hopes to fill those gaps. We focus on decolonial, feminist, queer and all intersectional material and authors. We are a self-proclaimed reference that doesn’t get referenced yet. All of our authors have a statement to make and we simply facilitate it. If you feel we missed a spot, get in touch!
Note from Marcus: Some people just get it, the passion, the work, the commitment, wanting to help and make the world a better place. Since Betty and Baki have joined the Firepit team, my life has become immeasurably more delightful . Thank you.
Little Good Knits.
Our new partner in Firepit Gallery Gift Shop
"The Knits of Our Time."

Little Good Knits is a Greenwich, London-based small business that brings to life limited-edition, artful knitwear designed by your favourite artists and creators.
Our vibrant designs will connect you to:
Your artistic inner self;
The artist you're supporting;
Other people who share an appreciation of original designs and knitwear;
Various causes we fundraise for;
The company of a wonderful creative community filled with talents, laughter, love, and support!
We spent months developing each design, ensuring that every piece holds true meaning for our collectors, and you'll want to wear your Little Good Knits every day.
October was really busy, both with events, Black History Month, workshops, new collaborations, new exhibitions, new artworks. We had our first collaboration with the Social Enterprise You Press, please check out their work, it is off the charts good and the people that work there are some of the kindest, most visionary people I have ever met, I do not say this lightly. We are going to be doing a lot more very exciting things with them.
October was Black History month, Curtis Donavan curated a hugely successful exhibition, with 12 gifted black artists. Some of which fell in love with Firepit, you may well see them using the space to sketch and paint in. There were two creative workshops, specific to the exhibition, and a very, very special spoken word hosted by Uncle London, showcasing black artists. We had panel talks organised by The Photography Foundation, talking with UK Black Female Photographers UKBFTOG and we ended it with the fantastic evening, ‘Healing Voices’, run by You Press, which consisted of panel talks discussing mental health within the black community, spoken word and performance pieces, an amazing evening.

We hosted our first wine masterclass, with food. It was a huge success, we have already been asked to host more. Our idea is to travel around the world, pick different countries and regions for the masterclass and choose simple quality food to pair with. This will become a monthly event, not sure if we’ll squeeze one in December or not, but we’ll try!

And of course October was our new exhibition opening. The opening night was a really beautiful evening, artists, creatives and art lovers all coming together and having a wonderful night. I love these evenings. If you made it, thank you for coming, if you weren’t able to, please come and visit the exhibition. The work is outstanding.

All of these events were amongst our regular mediation and sound bath classes run by Cara and our regular wellness / creative workshops run by Pragya and Nicola. We also had our first epic life drawing, sip and paint event! It sold out, like many of our events are starting to do. And let’s not forget the interactive children’s book reading by our local resident author Angela, that was a lovely, noisy couple of hours! Thank you to all that have supported us by attending.
Coming up; we are in talks with a new charity partner, hopefully we can announce this next month. We are collaborating over the next few months with 5 different social and community driven charities and CIC’s. Soon as the events are confirmed, they will be announced. We have ourselves a number of community driven projects we are working on and a couple in collaboration with other organisations. Soon as we can, details will be announced.
