July. Sometimes it has felt a bit like Julember. Regardless of the weather, we are full steam ahead in Firepit. We had a fabulous opening evening for our new exhibition,’Art of Being’. And our workshop/event program that is running alongside the exhibition, is in full swing. Since the opening we have had the privilege of hosting: Wire Sculpting Workshop, Wall Project Launch, Meditation Classes, Connections with Pragya Kumar, Pasta making workshop, Tai Chi Class. We have much more to come this month.

Workshops and Events

As a special summer deal, we have two for one tickets on our Kirtan evening and Indian Food with wine pairing night Ideally we fill these nights with our own Firepit community, so we can make them ours and regular events. Would be hugely grateful for your support.

Every Monday this month. We have a daytime OM Chanting Meditation Class. This is a free class hosted by the wonderful Octavia. This is another workshop we are offering for free to our community, so we can all start off the week with good energy :) Reserve Your Spot

Tuesday 9th: Interactive Generative AI Workshop. A free workshop Reserve Your Spot

Wednesday 10th: Monthly Yarn Play with Nicola Reid. Free and Donation Tickets available. Reserve your spot.

Thursday 11th: Kirtan Meditation evening. Get your vocal pipes ready for this gorgeous evening. Experience the transformative power of sound and mantra music (get a two for one deal while tickets last) Reserve your spot.

Saturday 13th: Two Hands, One Vision - Self Portrait Workshop with Nelly K. Explore the art of self-expression through dual handed drawing techniques. Free and Donation Tickets Available. Reserve your spot.

Thursday 18th: Artist Talks. Two of our Firepit artists chatting about their latest work in the new exhibition. Hosted by Lana Mercury. This first session Lana will be chatting to Marcus Jake and Nelly K - this is a free event Reserve Your Spot

Friday 19th: Indian Food Supper Club with Optional Wine Pairing! Various ticket options available. This could become a bi-monthly event if it proves to be popular. Come join the Firepit team, chat about art, eat amazing food, drink amazing wine. (get a two for one deal, while tickets last) Reserve your spot

Saturday 20th: Things are going to get noisy. West African Drumming Workshop Reserve your spot This is part of the Jazz and Food festival happening on the Peninsula.. looks like a great day, details are here

Wednesday 24th: The Photography Foundation are taking over our print room for their students exhibition. Will be running for one week. Reserve your spot

Saturday 27th: Pigment to Paint Workshop. Transform ordinary earth into luxurious watercolour paints, creating your own colour palette to take home with you! Reserve your spot.

Wednesday 31st: Firepit Tales open mic. Our monthly instalment of Firepit Tales. We have early bird free audience tickets (while they last) and free performers tickets for this event Reserve Your Spot

Saturday 3rd August: Polymer Clay Jewellery making workshop. This is a small group, so get tickets while we still have them. Reserve your spot

Other News

We have bunch of interactive projects going on in the gallery right now. You can create a brick for Pragya Kumar’s wall project, you can doodle on the Firepit Doodle wall, make a Firepit Postcard and have it displayed in all its glory, Betty and Baki have created a interactive installation for our latest exhibition, titled, ‘Not A Reference Yet’. We have our long table setup for both workshops and for people to come in and use during gallery opening times, so come and use it. Gallery is open Tue-Fri 10-5pm and Sat 11-5pm

We have had the vinyls removed from the front of the building, it looks fantastic and like we really mean business, which we do :)

In August we are going to close the gallery for 2 weeks from the 12th, re-opening on Tuesday 27th. August is a very quiet month for us, so we are taking the opportunity to refresh and take some self care time :)
