December, December, December. As we move into a cold spell, we decided to take an outside stall on the Peninsula Square Market. We will be there for the first three weekends of December. Please visit and bring warm things for us. We have some lovely gift items for yourself or for Christmas presents. It is really important to buy from local makers and artists if you can.

Firepit Artist Spotlight: Nelly Khanum
Describe practice: Balancing brush strokes and babies, empowering parents and the community as a whole to embrace their hidden talents, to be able to break the realm of parenthood and have their own identity, to show you can balance both.
What are you hoping to achieve at whilst being part of the collective at firepit?
As a resident of Greenwich Peninsula, I am hoping to host art wellness workshops for all ages and background to support mental health. I intend to create my own collection of work, raising awareness of mental health, whilst having fun with colours on canvas. I am hoping for Firepit to be a place to exhale.
Describe yourself: I am fun, sociable and enthusiastic, whilst also, I did get lost in the process of grief and motherhood. This changed a joy of painting into a dread of thought, however, it is now where I have the most fun, with a brush and my babies.
Artist superpower: My superpower is being a mom, but being a mum and being able to help others to do what they love. Being able to support raw mental health is Wonder Woman at its finest.

Workshops and Events
Throughout December, there are a number of very awesome wellbeing classes and workshops being run by The Hour called Thrive, these are for for those who live or work on Greenwich Peninsula. Thrive
1st - 5th: The continuation of The Photography Foundation Exhibition.
Friday 1st: Resident Day. If you are a local resident, please feel free to bring your laptop, snacks etc and work in the Firepit building with us. We set up a particular day for this, but you’d be welcome to drop down and work from here anytime during our gallery opening hours, throughout December.
Saturday/Sunday 2/3rd: Greenwich Peninsula Market. This is held on Peninsula Square. Nearest tube, North Greenwich. We’ve got you covered for Christmas Gifts.
Saturday 9th: Card Making workshop. This is a drop in event, held in Firepit. We’ll be running two sessions, first starting at 11am, the second at 2pm. It is free, but we would happily take a donation to help cover the costs.
Saturday/Sunday 9/10th: Greenwich Peninsula Market. On Peninsula Square.
Saturday/Sunday 16/17th: Greenwich Peninsula Market. On Peninsula Square.
Friday 22nd: This is the last day we will be open this year.
All through December, the continuation of our group exhibition, ‘Changing Colours’, Our opening hours are Tue-Fri 10-5pm and Sat 11-5pm. Or by appointment. Free entry and you don’t need a ticket. Details are here: Changing Colours
Also, we have created a gift shop within the gallery, perfect for gift buying this year. Same opening times as above.
